Nicolás Carvalho Ochoa. Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, 1985. Argentinian-Spanish freelance photographer and journalist specialized on breaking news and documentary long-term projects based in Barcelona, Spain. He had worked for several magazines and newspapers (news, culture, sports) from Argentina, both as a photographer and as a writer. From 2003 to 2008 he studied journalism in Buenos Aires at TEA and El Salvador University. In 2013 he did a specialization in photojournalism at the Association of Graphic Reporters of Argentina (ARGRA) in Buenos Aires. In 2014, he moved to Barcelona after being honored with two scholarships in photojournalism and digital postproduction at GrisArt and the Documentary Photography Center (CFD) at the same time.
As a freelance photographer he covers breaking news for agencies as Deutsche Presse Agentur (DPA), Getty Images, Agence France-Presse (AFP) and SIPA Press. His lastest works were shown or selected at Visa pour l'Image (Asociation Nationale de Iconographers), Colectania Foundation, Docfield Documentary Festival, Paraty em Foco Festival, Photogenic Festival and GrisArt. Some of his publications includes The New York Times, The Guardian, The New Yorker, Le Figaro, BBC, CNN, Financial Times, Stern, Der Spiegel, Die Welt, El País, La Vanguardia, Clarín, La Nación, among many others.
