Death, the inexplicable and unapproachable of our existence, becomes simply a service. The funeral’s spaces and their stereotyped rituals seek to give a meaning to life. An instant captures the last memory and aims to materialize a symbolic world for those who will stay in this part of the sidewalk: family, friends and lovers. Those who work in a funeral home are conditioned to conduct their daily life and monotonous work amongst darkness, absence, drama, and pain. This photographic series tries to reveal the daily process of stories recomposition of those unknown, reading their bodies, their expressions and their clothes. The farewell is the achievement of these investigators and cheap poets who embody this task in an Argentinean funeral home in a low-income neighborhood in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
